A seminar on personal hygiene and career readiness was held to inform high school students about how their hygiene can affect how society sees them.

The talk on August 5 was entitled “Success Starts With Self-Care: Building Professional Habits Through Personal Hygiene,” with the subtitle “Empowering Junior and Senior High School Students to Build Healthy Habits, Professional Confidence, and Career Readiness.”

This seminar oriented students on how to properly groom and present themselves, inside and out, as children of God.
Student Development Services Department Head, Ms. Sheila Padilla, shared that she had proposed to Ms. Hazel Sebastian to speak at the seminar as she is an advocate for people’s well-being.

“We had chosen Ms. Hazel to be today’s speaker as she is an advocate for people’s wellbeing and is a registered nurse here in the Philippines as well as abroad, and has two decades of experience in the medical world under her belt,” Ms. Padilla stated.

Ms. Sebastian hopes to create a positive impact on the students regarding how they can take care of themselves.

“I hope that this talk affects the students positively and that it inspires them to take care of their bodies.” she shared.

She emphasized that the seminar’s purpose was not only to teach students how to properly take care of themselves but also how to dress appropriately for their future careers.

It also taught them that outward appearance isn’t everything a person can offer, as good hygiene should go hand in hand with character, confidence, and professionalism.

As part of the seminar, the Student Government distributed hygiene kits to every classroom as part of its project, further encouraging JCAians to practice proper hygiene and self-care in their daily lives.
