To sharpen their skills for the upcoming school year, student leaders participated in an exclusive workshop led by instructors Ms. Kristine and Ms. Rovy Seroje-Alicante from May 11 to 13.

As the  Supreme Pupil Government (SPG), Supreme Student Government (SSG, and Supreme Student Council (SSC) gathered in the audio-visual room (AVR), Ms. Cruzado and Ms. Alicante welcomed the student-leaders with an orientation on the workshop activities and expectations.

The first day’s agenda included dividing participants into three groups and joining physical tasks focused on teamwork and cooperation, such as a yell, team banners, treasure hunts, and tug-of-war, which were conducted around the school parking lot.

Throughout each activity, Ms. Cruzado gave a brief discussion highlighting the challenges and common mistakes that come with leading a team.

Eventually, the workshop turned its attention towards the projects and programs set for the upcoming school year, where they were given the chance to share their ideas and suggestions.

The following day, student leaders were hooked as they were encouraged to strengthen three major leadership skills: critical thinking, decision making, and public speaking. Collaborative tasks such as a debate, word puzzles, paper dance, the boat is sinking with a twist, and impromptu speech also took place, teaching them the importance of influence and connection with other student leaders.

“As a student leader this workshop helped understand what aspects of myself I can still improve on to lead,” SSC Grade 11 Rep. Jihanna Rose Javier said, sharing her learnings from the workshop.

Moreover, School Principal Ms. Cynthia Genon personally observed the participants’ public speaking skills during their impromptu speech activity and shared tips and advice to further hone their god-given abilities.

On the last day of the workshop, the student leaders came in their Sunday’s best attire to formally welcome guest speakers, Architect Johanne Sebastian and Marketing Officer Mr. Zael Tan.

“It felt real. I left feeling inspired and not like I just attended a workshop,” said SPG Public Information Officer (PIO) Samantha Delos Reyes. SSG Treasurer Ghermaine Racasa also shared positive remarks, appreciating the unexpected lessons and friendships that came with the workshop.

The workshop concluded with the recognition of outstanding student leaders as they prepare to serve the student body for the school year 2026–2027.
