JCA commences S.Y. ’26-’27 with orientation programs

In the undertaking of a new chapter of JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA), Ms. Cynthia Genon, the school’s principal, officially opened its gates to students for the school year 2026-2027 today, June 22.

After two months of vacation, JCAians, teachers, and staff participated in the Christian Flag Ceremony (CFC) led by the academic leaders and administrators, following the proclamation of the kickstart of the school year by Ms. Genon.

“With the power of the Department of Education (DepEd) vested in me, I now hereby proclaim and declare the school year 2026–20227 of JCSGO Christian Academy open.”

After the said CFC, students’ orientation of the junior high school (JHS) department classrooms were facilitated by their respective advisers. Meanwhile, the Senior High School (SHS) orientation in the Central Hall was led by Ms. Marife Jagto, Assistant Principal of Academics and Admission, Ms. Ma. Lourdes Borromeo, Prefect of Discipline and Security, Ms. Sheila Padilla, Head, Student Development Services and Guidance Counselor, and Ms. Dhanna Ysabella Abubo, the school’s nurse.

The mentioned administration leaders discussed the school’s policies, classification of offenses, student development services, health services, and the changes from DepEd, such as the three-term calendar and the strengthened curriculum this school year.

Moreover, the JHS department will have a separate orientation for each office during the opening block, a term used by DepEd to describe the three divisions of the school year.

Ms. Saraleen Sansano, adviser of 11 – Shiloh, shared her preparations for the new school year, particularly for the implementation of the SHS curriculum.

“May mga ina-attend kami na seminars and trainings for preparation na rin sa school year, especially ang sa senior high school kasi nga may new curriculum tayo,” Ms. Sansano expressed. 

She added that she prepared bulletin boards in her classroom and developed new strategies to ensure the effectiveness of her term as an adviser.

As part of the activity of the student government, its members also set up a commemorative photobooth to welcome the students on their first day of classes.
