Student leaders spearhead new campus projects

With a purpose to serve the student body, officials of the student governments are working on initiatives for the school year 2026–2027.

Supreme Pupil Government (SPG)

The Supreme Pupil Government (SPG) kicked off the school year with projects for the month of July by distributing classroom cleaning materials, hygiene kits, and section banners to create safe, clean, and unified spaces for the grade school (GS) department.

Beyond classroom preparation, they will also be launching long-term projects, including a “Prayer Partner Program” in September, a quarterly “Kindness and Compliment Wall,” and a December outreach project alongside a Christmas caroling contest.

The proposed programs are initiated to foster spiritual growth, student responsibility, and peer connections throughout the school year.

Supreme Student Government (SSG)

With July being known as “hygiene month,” the Supreme Student Government (SSG) under the junior high school department (JHS) is focusing on student health.

After a recent cleanup drive, the organization is now working to distribute packages containing basic health supplies.

For their primary health project, the SSG received approval from Ms. Rovy Alicante, the SSG Moderator, to install sanitary pad dispensers in female restrooms, along with tissue or deodorant dispensers in male restrooms.

“Our second project for July is hygiene kits because it’s hygiene month, so our aim is that the kits will have everything you need, like deodorant, alcohol, and anything else for sanitation,” SSG President Summer Bautista said.

Student leaders noted that female students often face health emergencies and previously had to walk far to the clinic. This project protects student dignity and ensures equal access to basic hygiene resources.

Looking ahead, the SSG officers encourage students to stay open, enjoy upcoming activities, and actively participate in shaping their projects.

The council plans to gather continuous feedback and suggestions to keep their governance focused on student needs.

They are also requesting the patience of the student body during consultation periods, emphasizing that gathering feedback is essential for building a student-centered government.

Supreme Student Council (SSC)

Under the senior high school department, the Supreme Student Council (SSC) is prioritizing fixing everyday campus problems while managing funds carefully.

To support academic success, the SSC is launching a Study Buddy Program.

The said project pairs volunteer tutors with academically struggling peers during study periods to help with lessons and exam preparations. Funded by the council, volunteers will receive a small allowance and learning materials.

The SSC discourages accepting outside donations, as funds have already been allocated for the project. To secure additional funding, the council plans to host “Entrep Friday,” learning from last year’s budget shortages.

Weine Andreiu Xykhiel Bibera, SSC Spiritual Coordinator, emphasized that all initiatives are designed to return student funds directly to the student body through useful service.

“We chose these projects because our goal is not to abuse power nor do unnecessary projects with your funds,” Bibera said.

Beyond academic help, the council is also setting up simple, useful facilities in the SHS lounge and central hall.

The council plans to introduce an SHS-Exclusive Lost and Found, which is scheduled for launch in the second quarter, a Student Suggestion Box, and a Freedom Wall on the bulletin board.

Student leaders noted that these new programs solve everyday campus issues while taking extra workload off for the teachers.

“Our priority as student leaders is to focus on long-term, meaningful services that address student needs and bring lasting value to our SHS community,” said SSC President Jean Karl Dawal.
