Robotics pioneers innovation within JCAians
Marking a new milestone anchored in development, JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA) launched robotics as an elective for junior high school students.
In collaboration with REX Bookstore, robotics kits were provided, with expenses paid by the school, which is included in the students’ tuition fees.

The new elective has taken effect this school year, aligning with the institution’s goal for its 30th anniversary, “Finest @30.”
Before the beginning of the academic year, the computer laboratory underwent major renovations. The space was extended, becoming what is now known as the computer laboratory and robotics room.

Robotics teacher Sir Daryll Bryan Abacan said that since robotics is a new program in JCA, he expects robotics to become a step forward where students can transform ideas into tangible realities.
“I hope students develop problem-solving skills, creativity, teamwork, and confidence as they learn to design, build, and program robots,” he shared.
Mr. Abacan believes that the learning materials provided by the school, along with its provider, have supplied the institution with sufficient resources for adequate learning.

Besides teaching robotics, he aspires to leave a meaningful impact on his students by harnessing their potential to recognize and develop their God-given gifts.
“If I can inspire even a few students to pursue STEM [Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering] with confidence and enthusiasm, helping them recognize and develop the abilities God has given them, I would consider that a meaningful impact,” Mr. Abacan concluded.
Enthusiastic student David Ethan Jornadal says he’s ambitious when it comes to robotics because it aligns with his dream career.

“I plan to take a mechatronics engineering course, and I found that robotics is also very much fun,” he shared.
He also plans to monetize his learnings in robotics by creating a business out of robots.
“[I want to create an] automated business, self made projects, and my very own personal artificial intelligence,” he concluded.
