In order to prepare aspiring student leaders, JCSGO Christian Academy launched its Student Leadership Camp, with the theme “The Leader in Me,” at the JCSGO Dream Campsite in Cavite, August 14–15.

The event was organized by school principal Cynthia Genon, including student activity coordinators Brenda Zamora, Faye Binasoy, and Kristine Cruzado.

Students from grade school, junior high, and senior high were all divided into six groups: Ruth (red), Deborah (yellow), Moses (green), David (blue), and Esther (purple).

The camp discussed all types of leadership positions and their core values. The students participated in leadership-related activities such as role-playing, brainstorming, writing, crafting, and more.

The camp emphasized the seven habits of an influential leader: put things first, put God first, make things happen, think ahead, think win-win, understand others, value teamwork, and level up.

“Because we are a leadership school, we want to introduce and let them master the seven habits of an influential leader because this will be their guide as they lead in their classrooms, the student council, and in all student organizations,” said Genon.

“And of course to train them, that there is a leader whom they need to follow, and that is God, the leader in me,” she added.

The students participated in morning exercises, praise and worship, and a bonfire where each team was allowed to share the gospel.

All students were given certificates of participation, while team leaders were recognized for their skills.

The best campers for each grade level were Ysabelle Sophia Sadiasa, Gabriel Angelo Rios, and Thalia Mae Abad.

Team David was recognized as the most active team, and Team Ruth was awarded as the most responsible team.
