Educators from Early Childhood Education (ECE) to Senior High School (SHS) gathered for a seminar on self-care and work-life balance titled “A Teacher’s Well-Being at Its Finest: A Holistic Approach” on November 3, 2025.

Ms. Hazel Emma Mae Sebastian, the seminar’s main speaker, discussed “Understanding Teacher Well-Being Through a Holistic Lens,” highlighting the importance of caring for one’s physical, emotional, and mental health using Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs as a guide.

Ms. Sebastian reminded everyone that self-care is a key part of effective teaching, saying, “Paano mo i-a-apply sa estudyante mo kung hindi mo ma-i-apply sa sarili mo?” She also shared ways to avoid burnout and offered practical tips to manage stress and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Teachers were also encouraged to eat healthy foods to sustain their energy and focus throughout the day. During the discussion, Ms. Sebastian asked about their hobbies, where many shared that activities like nail art and cooking help them relax, have fun, and express creativity outside the classroom.

“I will prioritize my well-being first so that I can share more energy and knowledge with my students,” said Mrs. Cyrel Tajanlangit Gemeniano, Senior High School Teacher

Her words reflected how important it is for teachers to take care of themselves so they can give their best to others. The seminar also inspired reflection among the teachers. She shared that having a supportive team makes a big difference in their work.
