The lights dimmed, the screen lit up, and the crowd came alive.

Four films from Grade 12 students took center stage and unveiled their artistry at the Siglo Film Festival from September 24–25, 2025, at the audio-visual room.

The first film, “Huling Desisyon – The Haiyan Dead” by Abby Mae Cristobal, dealt with themes of sacrifice, guilt, and choices that can not be undone, drawing inspiration from Merlie Alunan’s poem The Haiyan Dead.

The showing of “Dahas,” directed by Joem Domingo, depicted a community in turmoil, exposing issues of corruption, oppression, and conflict where even the innocent are not spared.

The following day then featured “Freeze,” directed by Marguelle Asuncion, Emm Go, and Reigne Concepcion, a psychological thriller that examined guilt and the consequences of remaining passive.

The festival closed with Vherylle Palecpec’s “Kung Alam Mo Lang” , a heartfelt story of Sol and Gab that reflected on love, loss, and the strength to endure.

“It felt really fulfilling because after all the hard work, stress, and late nights, seeing our work on screen made every sacrifice worth it,” Palecpec said.

The two-day event concluded with the audience sharing mixed comments and reactions to the films. Grade 12 adviser Ms. Mary Rose Alvarez noted that the lineup showed impressive variety and creativity, reflecting the students’ unique perspectives.
