
Prophets claim victory over Judges in Intense Matchup

In a tightly contested battle, the Red Prophets emerged victorious against the Blue Judges with a narrow score of 84-82 during the Men’s Basketball Championship Game of the 8th JCA Senior High Intramurals at the JCSGO Seed Dome last February 29.
The Prophets dominated the first quarter, securing an early 16-4 lead and concluding the quarter with a score of 27-14.
During the second quarter, the Judges managed to close the gap, spurred by Gabriel Macarilay’s 2-point burst, adding a total of 13 points to their tally. However, the Prophets maintained their lead, finishing the quarter, 37-34.
The Prophets maintained their lead in the third quarter, with Kobe Dumaguin and Hypee Singh contributing an impressive 11 points each.
The fourth quarter was intense as the Prophets and Judges exchanged back-to-back scores, keeping the points margin close throughout.
Jolliber Marasigan from the Blue Judges played a vital role by scoring seven 2-pointers in an attempt to seize the lead from the Prophets, supported by Macarilay’s additional six points, which intensified the Judges’ effort to turn the tide in their favor.
All audiences were on the edge of their seats as the clock was ticking down, with the Prophets holding a narrow one-point lead, 82-81.
Both teams exerted their utmost effort to secure the victory, and in a thrilling turn of events, Kenneth Somera’s buzzer-beater 3-pointer sealed the deal for the Prophets, securing their well-fought victory.
Singh made a significant contribution with 23 points and nine rebounds, while Dumaguin also played a crucial role, tallying 23 points and six rebounds. Somera added to the team’s success with 16 points and seven rebounds.
