OCTOBER IS HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

Throughout each school year, October is celebrated as Health Awareness Month in JCA. In an effort to highlight and recognize the importance of health, several bulletins and information drives have been conducted by the school health services through online platforms.

The school continues to play an important role in ensuring that students have safe access to health information. These included priority areas such as mental health, infection control through handwashing, and eye safety and care.

Some of the activities and info drives conducted:

Alongside the regular observance and campaign for world mental health day, global handwashing day, and national health education week that the school takes part in, it remains consistent in advancing its Healthy Monday advocacy.

Healthy Monday is composed of Meatless Monday which promotes eating fruits, veggies and non-meat items; and Move It Monday which encourages students to take regular fitness breaks during online class to avoid being sedentary.

Health is valuable. It is important for our students, faculty and other members of the JCA community to be educated, supported and well-informed about it especially in this time.
