JHS Intramurals returns after 3 years
by Charlice Trono Villadolid
For the first time in three years of distance learning and the postponement of sports events, the Junior High School students experienced their first onsite intramurals at JCSGO Christian Academy.
The Students commenced the long-awaited event from February 20 to February 23 as they showcased their talents in sports, physical activities, and other leisure festivities.
The intramurals included six teams: Blue Seraphims, Red Conquerors, Green Prodigies, Orange Embers, Yellow Chevaliers, and Purple Vanguards.
The sports event kicked off with the team huddle, where color banners and hyped chants surrounded the parking lot, followed by the torch lighting led by each team captain that formally began the intramurals.
JCA JHS also launched the 2023 edition of the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals, which featured representatives from each team showcasing their skills, intelligence, and composure as they competed for the crown.
Rodge Justin Depra from the Vanguards and Janelle De Ocampo of the Prodigies were crowned Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2023.
JHS students participated in sports activities and non-physical sports that capped off with championship games, team yell performances, and the awarding and recognition ceremony for deserving JCAians.
The Chevaliers took home the Men’s Basketball title, while the Seraphims triumphed in the Women’s Volleyball tour, and the Embers secured the dub in the yell competition.
The Seraphims were crowned as the overall champions.
