Out of 70 participating schools around the National Capital Region, JCAian spellers bag six medals with their spelling prowess at the Inter-School Academic and Athletic League (ISAAL) Spelling Challenge 2026, on January 9 at Our Lady of Fatima University.
This strong showing followed the team’s first-place finish in the Spelling Bee during the JCA’s English Month Competition, showing their mastery of language skills beyond school level.
Grade School Winners:
Pam Alexa T. Tejada – Rank 7 (Grade 4)
Railey Nathan Dela Cruz – Rank 5 (Grade 5)
Junior High School Winners:
Cassidy Kiel N. Tan – Rank 3 (Grade 7)
Jayden Michael Tunaco – Rank 1 (Grade 8)
Samuel A. Morano – Rank 10 (Grade 9)
Marcus Jace P. Lacson – Rank 14 (Grade 10)
JCA would also like to thank the dedication and hard work of Arianna Marie R. Navarro (Grade 6) and Dorothy Santos (Kinder).
“Representing my school in this prestigious competition was a nervous yet rewarding experience. It wasn’t just about the title; it was about showing gratitude for the wisdom God has given me and helping others improve their literacy and vocabulary,” said Marcus Lacson.
Lacson emphasized that the ISAAL competition is more than a contest—it is a platform for students to master the language skills, primarily spelling, necessary for success.
Tuñacao shared the quote in his Facebook post, “To this I hold my hope only is Jesus.”
