By: Yuri Naranja
In celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and Media and Information Literacy (STMML) month, the JCA SHS department hosted the Lab Wizards on Monday, November 25, at the Science Laboratory.
Each SHS section representative was tasked with selecting a scientific experiment and explaining it clearly to the audience in a four to five-minute live demonstration, emphasizing its real-world applications, which tested scientific knowledge and the ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple, entertaining way.
“Moreover at the end of the events, it was very fulling seeing that a lot of students (sana) were able to enjoy it. And hopefully, they get to appreciate our effort in making this whole month as inclusive as possible. Kasi diba most of the students have this stereotype na STEM and MIL is for academically intelligent people only,” Ms. Mary Rose Alvarez, one of the STMML Month Organizers and Facilitator said.
The winners of the Lab Wizards will be announced during the culminating activity on November 29 at the Central Hall.
