JCA SHS department seeks to preempt bullying cases
by Sam Chiong
To help with the prevention and monitoring efforts against bullying situations, the Senior High School Department (SHS) of JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA) conducted a seminar at the school’s Audio Visual Room (AVR), last Monday, March 27.
JCA invited Mr. Elthon Delos Santos, a Youth Leader Minister in ELEVATE, to speak to the students with the theme of “Honoring God: Treating Others with Respect and Compassion to End Bullying” in an effort to help the students become more aware of bullying and to open their eyes to its effects.
Mr. Delos Santos discussed several effects of bullying that might help students understand how bullying is a huge problem that should not be acknowledged.
He also emphasized that bullying occurs for a variety of causes in order to raise student awareness and avoid it from happening to them.
The youth leader minister stated that he was passionate about preventing bullying because he did not want youths to go through it since he had been a victim in the past.
SHS Head teacher Ms. Tricia Artienda, also shared her thoughts on the topic, stating she was worried about students who might have been bullied and didn’t want it to happen on the school premises.
Ms. Artienda made it clear to the learners that the school does not tolerate bullying and strives to provide a safe and healthy environment in which students may study and engage with one another.
