JCA shifts to online amid influenza season
| Elyssa Flores
JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA) shifted to online classes from October 16 until October 30, 2025, after the school physician, Dr. Frederick Christian T. Calamaan, recommended the move due to a recent rise in influenza symptoms among students.
According to the school’s clinic staff, there has been a noticeable increase in cases over the past few days, as a large number of students have been experiencing flu-like symptoms such as cough and fever, prompting concern among teachers and administrators and leading to discussions on how to curb the spread.
To address the situation, Dr. Calamaan advised the academic department to suspend face-to-face classes temporarily and shift to online learning to give time for thorough classroom disinfection and allow sick students to rest and recover safely at home.
This aims to reduce the risk of infection once classes resume and maintain a safe environment for all members of the JCA community.
Students are advised to monitor their health, follow hygiene measures, and take advantage of the rest period before returning to face-to-face learning.
