JCA secures victory over CSQC

In a thrilling two-part showdown, the JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA) Men’s Volleyball Team triumphed against Claret School of Quezon City (CSQC) during the Athletic Association of Private Schools (AAPS) District III Eliminations at St. Bridget School Gymnasium, January 11-12.

JCA prevailed in two thriller sets for the first game, which put them in an advantage against CSQC, winning sets one and three, 25-21, 25-22.

The intensity continued into the second game, where JCA maintained their dominance with a 2-0 victory, claiming sets with scores of 25-23 and 25-15.

It was a close game right from the start, with both schools trading blows in the early parts of the set; CSQC tried to close the gap late with a run, but JCA secured the set.

The third set was no different, with both schools giving a nerve-wracking deciding match. JCA was trying to build momentum with CSQC leading 9-13 before the court switch.

JCA, however, came out hot, scoring a 6-1 run after the court switch, including Vince Castro’s three service aces and Kent Traboco’s four straight attacks to regain the momentum and the lead, 16-14.

The ball game went down the wire, with both teams going mano-e-mano late, but Traboco’s heroics helped JCA triumphed, 25-22.

Traboco led all scorers with 17 points, while Marc Jagto garnered 10 points and Daniel Sunga with eight boards.

JCA took control in the initial half of the set with a 7-1 run, but CSQC mounted a late comeback, narrowing the gap with a strong run.

In a closely contested battle, JCA secured a hard-fought victory in the opening set, triumphing 25-23, with their strategic play disrupting CSQC’s momentum, allowing JCA to claim the initial set of the match.

The second set ignited as JCA unleashed a relentless offensive onslaught, surging with an 8-1 run, propelled by Kent Traboco’s scorching service aces.

JCA asserted their dominance, clinching the victory with a commanding 25-15 score, spearheaded by Traboco’s stellar performance, amassing 16 points, supported by Vince Castro and Marc Jagto’s key contributions.
