JCA Men’s Basketball Team (MBT) cools off Nuestra Señora de Guia Academy (NSDGA-B) with a 90-60 demolition in the 13th Itam Invitational Sportsfest yesterday, November 23 at the FEU Institute of Technology Gymnasium.
Majority of the ball game’s actions were done by Kurt Bidaure and Gabriel Macarilay, charging a back-to-back lay-up, taking over with an 8-0 run, along with Marc Sigua’s three-pointer that he swished, closing the third quarter, 62-45.
During the final period, Head Coach Gerard Alejo and Assistant Coach Dan Sigua told the men-in-blue to dominate with the remaining minutes of the match, finishing the game with a 90-60 cushion in favor of JCA.
When asked about his motivation during the final play, Coach Alejo revealed, “Narinig ko kasi sa parents ng kalaban parang construction worker daw maglaro, kaya ayun, binigyan ko sila ng demolition, sabi ko tapusin na ‘ang laro.” He firmly added, “Hindi kami ginaganon.”
JCA MBT turned to Bidaure, who led the team’s 30-point victory, racking 14 points, two rebounds, and two dimes, aligned with Macarilay’s 14 points and two boards. Alexander Alfaro also finished with 13 points and two assists.
After a commanding victory, the JCA MBT secured an impressive 3-0 record in their ITAM stint.
