JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA) held its first Move It Monday of the school year on Monday, June 30, with students participating in physical activities in their classrooms and at the JCA Skyline.
The activity is part of the school’s yearly wellness advocacy, with each level doing exercises in assigned areas to promote health, teamwork, and an active lifestyle.
Early Childhood Education (ECE) pupils played simple games and exercises in front of their classrooms. Grade School (GS) students, on the other hand, played games inside their classrooms designed to help them build teamwork and cooperation.
Meanwhile, Junior High School (JHS) students gathered at the JCA Skyline with advisers and teachers to play basketball, volleyball, badminton, tag, and use the gym equipment. Senior High School (SHS) students stayed in their classrooms and practiced Tai Chi, using slow movements and breathing techniques to help them stay calm and focused.
Rowela Melgar, a JHS student, said she felt happy to join the activity with her classmates.
“It’s fun because I’m with my friends, and we all ensure that our bodies are healthy. I look forward to more activities, especially during Healthy Monday, that can build a strong bond between students.”
Ms. Cristina Panahon, who led the activity with Ms. Suzette Lumbre, said Move It Monday helps students engage in physical activities that strengthen immunity and support critical thinking.
“It’s also a channel to build their relationship with classmates. I noticed how students become more open and participative afterwards,” said Panahon.
The school will continue Move It Monday every week as part of its wellness advocacy to help students stay active and ready to learn.
