Junior High School pupils from Grades 8-10 argue about their stances on trending issues in JCSGO Christian Academy’s debate competition at the Audio-Visual Room on September 24.
The topics were “Politicians with criminal cases that could still run” for the elimination round, “Corporal punishment in school” for the second round and battle for third place, and “Death Penalty” for the final found.
Participants presented their well-researched arguments, scientific data, and statistics, where each debater had two minutes to say their stances about the topic, five minutes to get ready for the question and answer, and two minutes for the debate proper.
In the final round. Ephraim Buenaflor, Jonah Borromeo, and Kriztian Baricua faced against Abcd Mabbagu, Ryan Bolante, and Hugh Baul.
After a closely contested debate, the judges awarded the championship to Buenaflor’s group, with Borromeo being crowned as Best Speaker.
