Influencing Young Minds: GS Showcases English Mastery in Essay Writing

Students from the Grade School (GS) Department took part in an ‘English Essay Writing Competition’ in celebration of English Month last Friday, September 13.

Around 50 contestants from Grades 4 to 6 filled the 3-Righteousness and 3-Faithfulness rooms of the JHS building as they expressed their English mastery through essay writing to showcase the theme: ‘Speak: Read, Write, Rise: Empowering Influential Communicators through English.’

Participants were given one hour to create any form of essay to deliver their message in an explanatory, persuasive, or entertaining fashion to be evaluated by GS teachers and Ms. Marbie Estefania, English Month Activities Head Organizer.

The competition aimed to challenge the young writers’ critical thinking and creativity in the English language. Ms. Estefania also stated that by participating in the contest, she hopes that the students be inspired to become full-fledged writers and influence those in other grade levels to participate in writing competitions in the future.
