NEW family. Under new management. In the new normal.

JCSGO Christian Academy’s official school publication Ignite named its new editorial board for the academic year 2020-2021 last September 7.

Former Associate Editor Xedryl Mae Escobar will lead the charge of the new looked team that will provide the latest information to the JCA community after being assigned as Editor-in-Chief.

“It’s overwhelming, but there’s no choice but to adapt to the changes,” said Escobar.

“I believe if we are able to do well in this pandemic, we could certainly take on many more challenges,” she added.

Newcomer Lourence Angelo Marcellana will assist Escobar and the section editors as the Associate Editor of the School Paper.

Yannah Dela Cruz was hailed as the Managing Editor and Feature Editor, Kaye Francisco as the Literary Editor, Jan Raven Reodica as the News Editor while Mark Christian Bandril as the layout artist and Jazmine Competente as the Graphic Artist.

Escobar is also the editor for the Science section with Marcellana handling the Sports section.

Marcellana finished second place in Sports Writing in the recent Nationals Schools Press Conference in Tuguegarao City last March 9-13.

Dela Cruz returned to Ignite after a year of hiatus as she will be the managing editor once again and looks to provide her strong sense of purpose to fulfill her role as campus journalist.

“Upfront, spirited and dead on set on to impart the most relevant news and information that is needed to be heard by my fellow students and people of JCA,” she said, determined to leave an impact on her last year.

Meanwhile, Reodica will continue his prowess in news writing as the News Editor. Francisco will return to the spotlight two years after her departure from Ignite.

Escobar and her crew aim to continue what the previous publication started by delivering news online that can be a reliable source of information for the entire JCA community.
