Faith, film highlighted in SHS Bible Month culminating

Senior High School students from JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA), along with the Grade 7-9 students, gathered together to celebrate the culmination of SHS Bible Month at the Seed Dome on Thursday, January 30.

Spearheaded by Ms. Faith Cariño-Alberto, with the help of esteemed judges Mr. Daniel Carbonel, Mr. Francis Morilao, and Mr. Zael Tan, the SHS Department participated in several activities throughout January under the theme, “God’s Word: Source of Hope,” to amplify the students’ faith in the Lord.

The program saw the SHS Praise Team and Student Council Spiritual Officer John Christian Ojos kicking off the event, followed by contest awarding, interspersed with viewings of each SHS section’s entries for the Cine Kabataan competition.

Individual contest winners were honored for their efforts: Alyssa Lane Alpino of 12-Elohim earned first place in the Bible Quiz Bee competition, as well as top picks Julien Nicholai Garcia, Nicola de Guzman, Vherylle Palecpec, Charlice Villadolid, and Trixy Umpad for their Scripture Shirt Design.

As the Grade 7-9 pupils’ voted for their best film in Cine Kabataan, the group categories were awarded first-placers 11-Shiloh for Tree of Hope and 12-Jireh for Christian Music Video contests, respectively.

Trophies were rewarded for Cine Kabataan winners, as 12-Elohim’s Mark Joel Sison and 12-Jireh’s Janelle De Ocampo took the spotlight for Best Actor and Actress. “Naririnig Mo Ba Ako?” of 12-Jireh emerged victorious for the People’s Choice Award and overall champion.

In her closing remarks, Principal Mrs. Cynthia Genon congratulated the participants and reaffirmed the importance of the theme for all attendants.

“Remember that our God is the only hope [and] the word of God is the answer to all our problems [is the] the Bible.”
