Early Childhood Education (ECE) held its much-awaited Health Parade showcasing the energy and creativity of students through educational activities centered on health and sustainability on, July 29, starting at the JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA) parking lot and culminating at the Audio-Visual Room (AVR)
The event focused on promoting health awareness, creativity, and environmental responsibility among the young learners.
Kindergarten students proudly introduced themselves as they came dressed in colorful and creative costumes made of recycled materials with the assistance of their parents.
“The main goal of ECE is for kids to be aware that their costumes are good and healthy for their body and for them to be familiarized and enjoy doing those activities. We used the 3Rs to make the costumes beautiful and to encourage their creativity, so that they can learn to use recycled materials as beautiful costumes, ” said Mrs. Liza Reyes, ECE head.
After the parade, students played a memory game, challenging their memory on healthy foods and helping improve their brain power in a fun way.
The activity culminated in a fastest-eating contest in which the children competed to eat a combination of vegetables and fruits.
“The kids will be influenced by this event by building their self-esteem, especially in the parade of costumes where they introduced themselves—this is a stepping stone for them not to be shy,” Mrs. Reyes explained.
She also emphasized that the event reflects the school’s broader mission of instilling positive values in young learners.
“We tell them to reuse and recycle, and to eat healthy foods for them to love their body, love God’s creation, and be grateful for what God gave us,” Mrs. Reyes added.
