A child should be an “explorer, not a nomad,” guest speaker Dr. Benny Cuyco Guillermo emphasized to parents at the school’s third-quarter fellowship at the Seed Dome, January 16.

The fellowship, centered on the theme “Not in Vain: Shaping Lives by Showing Up,” focuses on a student’s transition into a healthy adult, which depends on consistent parental validation and support. Dr. Guillermo, a Registered Guidance Counselor, urged parents to study their children’s developmental stages to provide a stable emotional connection.

Guest speaker Dr. Benny Cuyco Guillermo, a Registered Guidance Counselor, addressed the importance of “showing up.”

She highlighted that the parent-child relationship must be built on mutual understanding and validation to ensure a child’s growth, urging parents to understand developmental stages to provide a stable connection for their children.

Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) President Mrs. Charline Agustin noted that explorers need safety and encouragement without being controlled.

“This means parents should stay present and involved, but avoid controlling every step of the journey,” said Agustin.

The fellowship concluded with a Q&A session where parents and students explored practical ways to support the parent-child relationship, followed by the distribution of third-quarter report cards in respective classrooms.
