“Be inspired and be empowered, today and forevermore.”
JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA) Principal Ms. Cynthia C. Genon highlighted this message during the 2026 National Teachers’ Day celebration at the Seed Dome on October 7.
Organized by Student Activity Head Ms. Kristine Cruzado, the celebration recognized nearly 60 teaching personnel after the first chapel service of the month.
Ms. Genon, alongside the school’s Human Resources Head, Ms. Flordeliza Diaz, presented the Best Teacher, Best Adviser, Most Innovative Teacher, and Finest Personnel awards from Early Childhood Education (ECE) to the Senior High School (SHS) department for the first semester. Those selected also received gifts in appreciation of their service.

“Teachers, these are for you. We hope that you are inspired to do your best for the Glory of the Lord,” Ms. Genon expressed.
Ms. Ma. Abelyn Sikat, who has been teaching at JCA since 2015, was recognized as Best Teacher for ECE to Grade 3 for her dedication and passion for teaching.
“Dedication talaga, every day pumapasok ako nang maaga. Ako talaga, passion ko na to. Hindi kumpleto ‘yung araw ko na hindi ako papasok sa school at hindi ko makikita yung mga bata,” Ms. Sikat shared.

Meanwhile, the celebration also featured performances from various school clubs, including a dramatic tribute by the STELAH Club that showed how teachers manage their students’ struggles and how they encourage them to do what is right. JCA Voices also performed a live band number, while JForce concluded the program with a dance performance.
A photobooth provided by Farasha Lensation Films, owned by a parent of a JCA alumnus, was also available during the event to capture memories of JCAians with their teachers.

Meanwhile, for Ms. Maureen Tamayo, adviser of Grade 12–ROHI and one of JCA’s six new teachers, the celebration was “overwhelming.”
“‘Yung first experience ko sa JCA, very overwhelming kasi hindi lahat ng school ay ganoon ‘yung natatanggap ng teachers. Ganoon ‘yung natatanggap na pagmamahal mula sa students, sa staff, sa principal, at sa iba pa,” she said.

Despite being new, Ms. Tamayo said that the JCA’s environment made her experience different and special.
“Maganda ‘yung environment sa faculty, sa mismong workplace. Sa mga classroom, iba ‘yung students kung paano nila kausapin ‘yung teachers at kung paano sila mag-appreciate sa teachers,” she added.

The celebration continued in each classroom, where JCAians surprised their respective advisers and teachers, extending the appreciation beyond the main program.
