Grade 10 completers defy ‘youth limits’ at Moving Up ceremony

The march of 107 Grade 10 students across the Seed dome on April 7 represented a ceremony that marked their transition to Senior High School under the theme of 1 Timothy 4:12 and the recognition of a batch that refused to be defined by the “limitations of youth.”
Rev. Michelle Santiago-Semana, an alumnus from batch 2010, shared with the completers three important points they will need as they step into the next chapter: do not look down on yourself, do not let anyone look down at you, and don’t be ordinary.
She stressed that in this world where youth are often expected to fold under pressure, the Class of 2026 must remain and stand firm.
The completers later on performed their batch song ‘Stand,’ committing to stand firm even against trials, to stand for what is right, and to stand brave for the community.
Reflecting on this commitment, Marcus Lacson, who completed with high honors, emphasized that their journey begins with faith and deliberate choices. While they plan to seek God’s wisdom and protection first, he also aims to stand firm by selecting the right academic strand and surrounding themselves with supportive peers.
To honor their parents and people who helped them along the way, the Grade 10 JCAians prepared gifts and their tribute to their parents, the song “Thank You for Being My Dad.”
