At a time when global unity is important, JCA’s Grade School students stepped into the Seed Dome wearing the national costumes from all around the world, using history, passion, and performance to spotlight peace, cultural understanding, and togetherness.
The United Nations celebration brought color, culture, and community, as students from Grades one to six who proudly represented various countries, each dressed in attire from Asia, Africa, North and South America, and Oceania.
Parents, teachers, and students filled the seed dome where students took turns in showcasing their outfits in the lively program—from kimonos, African prints, to European designs.
“What this event has opened my eyes to is that each country has its own tradition and culture, with each being beautiful in its own way. It was new and exciting to not just wear, but to see the mesmerizing traditional attire from across the world,” Azrielle Mackenzie Mazo from Grade 5 – Perseverance said.
As the event came to an end, the students gathered for a final parade–waving flaglets of their country and cheering on together.
