My first words when I entered this school were “Hello!” But now that my journey here has come to an end, it will never be a goodbye. But rather, thank you for everything.
I have been a student here since elementary; I’ve been accustomed to its beliefs and traditions and grew comfortable in its environment and people. As a student leader, the road was tough, and it still is. But I’ve come to realize that I was never alone. Even though I felt lonely sometimes, now that my time here has come to an end, I’ve realized that people have supported me throughout the good and bad. No, I wasn’t perfect; I’ve committed mistakes, acted impulsively, and so much more. But with everything I’ve done, every experience came with a lesson.
So, thank you. I’m grateful that many have taught me in the toughest ways, reminded me of who I am and to be humble, and guided me to be the person I am today and will be tomorrow.
A teacher once told me that being a leader, you should be tough inside and out. Do not tolerate others and do what you think is right. I still struggle, but with this foundation crafted here in JCA, I know that I’ll be fine stepping out of my comfort zone. It is okay to fear, but never doubt. Tomorrow will always be a gift, a lesson, a discovery. When facing the unknown, we must be faithful, tough, and courageous. Because inside that deep and dark tunnel, you’re coursing through… There is a light that never goes out.
