In celebration of Mathematics Month, the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Department held its Passing of the Lantern on November 4 at the Joy room.

Each Kinder pupil created a unique lantern using recycled materials, paint, and decorative accents as part of this year’s lantern contest, which prompted students to consider positivity, resilience and environmental awareness as part of JCA’s Advocacy—Creation Care.

Teacher Liza Reyes, ECE Academic Head, noted that the lantern contest is part of the department’s Mathematics month activities, where students made lanterns using shapes and reusable materials.

Their work is graded under mathematics and the participants who submitted their entries will be selected for the contest, representing the ECE department.
