
SHS Students Contend for ’24 Intramurals Board Games

In the clash of intellect and strategic prowess during the 8th JCA Senior High School intramural games, teams clashed as they went head-to-head in Scrabble, Chess, and the Game of the Generals (GOG) during the final stretch of games last February 29.
The Green Saints, Blue Judges, Red Prophets, and Yellow Kings fought, with each team contending for a placement in their respective disciplines.
𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀
The Scrabble finals witnessed a fierce showdown between the Judges and Kings for the third position, with the Kings narrowly clinching victory with a score of 296 against Blue’s 291. In the finals, the Green Saints emerged triumphant with a commanding score of 320, securing a championship win.
Gian Kyle Espinar of the Saints claimed the top spot, followed by Scion Krioni Velayo of the Prophets and Leila Aguila of the Kings.
𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀
In the Chess finals, the Judges dominated as Joash Delos Angeles secured first place, showcasing intellectual prowess. Saints and Kings fought valiantly, with Elijah Bundoc and Markus Wong securing second and third positions, respectively.
𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀
In the GOG, the Judges continued their winning streak as Kurt Olayres emerged as the champion. The Saints, represented by Markin Asuncion, won the fierce battle to secure the third spot, while the Prophets, led by Mark Sison, followed for the final spot.
The thrill and intensity of the games have left an enduring legacy, highlighting the spirit of camaraderie, logic, and spirited competition among the participating teams, with each team having fought well for excellence and competition.
