By: Mary Ann Marcellana
To unite the spirit and sportsmanship of students towards achieving victory with God’s guidance, JCA Senior High School (SHS) Department officially launched its 2024 Intramurals at the JCSGO Seed Dome last February 26.
For the 8th SHS intramurals, the Student Council (SC) organized the whole event with the help of the SHS Faculty and Staff, with this year’s theme “In His Lead, we Succeed.”
The ceremony began with the colorful procession of the Red Prophets, Yellow Kings, Blue Judges, and Green Saints, each representing their respective colors.
Mrs. Cynthia Genon, the school principal, led the opening prayer, and Ms. Faye Binasoy, the Sports Coordinator and SC Adviser, delivered her opening remarks as she expressed her excitement for the upcoming activities.
“Let our efforts and focus towards God be given equal importance, if not greater than our academic or athletic aspirations, for it is He who will reward our hard work with success,” said Ms. Binasoy.
SC Sports Coordinator, Kent Traboco, led the oath of sportsmanship for the students, followed by Allyssa Pestelos, SC Communications Officer, who also gave reminders to all participants.
Shortly after the opening ceremony, the Yell Competition took center stage, with each team presenting their distinctive cheers to showcase their team spirit and unity. The results of the Yell Competition were revealed during the awarding ceremony.
