JCA Women’s Volleyball secures thrilling Win over MNHS

In a sweet finish, JCSGO Christian Academy’s (JCA) Women’s Volleyball Team defeated Meycauayan National High School (MNHS), 16-25, 25-20, 15-3, in the 12th Itam Invitational Sportsfest at the Far Eastern University – Institute of Technology Gymnasium last February 24.

MNHS got off to a quick start in the first set, surging ahead with a 6-1 burst. Although JCA attempted to weather the storm, MNHS maintained its momentum and secured the set, 25-16.

In the second set, both teams engaged in a closely contested battle, trading blows throughout. Despite JCA initially trailing by five points, the squad in white rallied and managed to seize the lead, ultimately winning the set, 25-20.

Carrying their momentum into the third set, the girls in white and blue dominated from the start, initiating a commanding 6-0 lead. They closed out the set with an impressive 8-0 surge, clinching victory with a resounding score of 15-3.

Stella Cortez’s contributions were critical, as she tallied nine points, four off of aces, and three attacks, while Alex Mallari had seven, including five attacks and two aces, leading JCA to victory.
